Light in the Darkness - Introduction

Lent is a season that Christians use as an opportunity for sober reflection on what Jesus went through in the weeks leading up to His Passion. The following seven weeks will serve as a time of reflection for Redemption Hill. Each week we will have a devotional that will correspond with the sermon from our Sunday Gathering.

Like many spiritual disciplines, this season of reflection should be done in community. We encourage you to spend time in your Community Group sharing your reflection, praying, and encouraging one another.

Because our church has a strong Theology of Food, a recipe accompanies each week’s devotional. It’s easier to see someone as your brother or sister when you share a meal with them. While it would be difficult to gather together as one church family each of the seven weeks, it is our hope that Community Groups will participate by making the recipe each week so we are sharing one meal at scattered tables.
